Another Baby Sweater

I know, so many projects, but I love baby sweaters. They are so quick! This was a three day project and super simple.
Anyway, this project was fun because I played a little bit with texture. The texture doesn't show up well in photos, but it is cute. Oh, and I made up this pattern! This is my very first original project.I've got another original design that I'm working on that I am really excited about. I am learning how to do some lace designs and they are fun, but they take a little while.

Sick Baby

These last couple of weeks Lily has been rather sick. We've dealt with little cold before and teething pain, but this is something new to us. We've been to the doctor twice (two weeks apart, I'm not a crazy mommy) and both times we were told to keep doing what we were doing and just wait it out.

As it turns out the simple little cold that she had a month ago turned into bronchialitis and then RSV. Oh, and in the middle of all that add an ear infection and the sprouting of 4 new teeth. The poor little thing has had such a hard time.

I like to be in control of a situation, but I have just felt so helpless lately. Other than Tylenol or Motrin to help with the fever and teething pain and the antibiotics for the ear infection there hasn't been much that I could do to make her more comfortable. I've felt so helpless. The other night she was up most of the night crying and all that I could do was rock her and cuddle her. I just wish that I could make it all better somehow.

Thankfully it looks like we are finally getting past it. Lily has been fever free for about 36 hours now and has been a much happier baby girl.

First Toothbrush

I really didn't think that I needed to worry about Lily's teeth for quite a while, but my friend Jenniie has taught me otherwise. So, I bought Lily her first toothbrush. I certainly don't expect her to let me give her a full on brushing twice a day, but rubbing them down is good for her and it should help her get used to the idea of having a toothbrush in her mouth since she will soon have a mouth full of teeth.
To start off I handed her the brush and she examined it.And as always she had to put it in her mouth, but she started with the wrong end.Look at her brushing those bottom teeth (or chewing on the toothbrush bristles, whatever)Will she let mommy brush her teeth or put it in her mouth, NO! We'll keep working in it!

I Finally Finished It!

I started this project several months ago. I actually can't remember exactly what month it was. Anyway, I saw this pattern and I thought that it was cute. Plus, it had some fun new challenges for me. I'm still just learning how to knit and this was my first time learning to do cables.

Anyway, it was a fun project to work and here are the results! While I am thrilled to be done with it, I find myself a bit lost as far as what to do next. I've been playing with some new things and I am excited to get started on a new challenge. I should probably finish another project that I am in the middle of first though.

First Day of School

This post is for my mother-in-law, Ann. She gave me Tyson's scrapbooks and each year on the first day of school she took a picture of Tyson at the door. Well, today was Tyson's first day of school and he let me take his picture by the door.He has played with the idea of going back for a while, but the day finally came. It will make life a lot busier for all of us, but we are very excited about it. I'm so proud of him!

And just because she is so cute, here's Lily seeing her daddy off this morning.

Look-a-likes?

Everyone seems to have an opinion of who Lily looks like and most people are very adamant in their opinions. I personally think that Lily is her daddy's little girl, but some people disagree with me. I think that I have found conclusive evidence to back up my opinion.

I was flipping through the scrapbook that Tyson's mom put together when I found this picture of him. He was just shy of 6 months old here.
This was taken of Lily as 6.5 months old. This picture of me was taken at a slightly younger age, but it is pretty much all the I have right now.So what does everyone else think? Is she daddy's little girl or her momma's?

...Eight Months...

Today our little Lily girl is 8 months old!

I know that I say this every month but I can't believe how quickly the time has gone by. She is at such a fun age. She spends her days discovering new things and becoming more and more are of what is around her. She is so sweet and interactive, it really makes my days a lot of fun.

She is certainly growing though. She is currently around 19 pounds and is 26-27 inches long. She won't hold still long enough for me to be entirely accurate.

And no without further ado, the onesie!

And finally a couple of videos.
She has learned how to make the chair in her room rock and she is trying so hard to crawl.
