A Very Busy Weekend

We had a very bust weekend!

First, we got on a plane on Thursday and flew to Salt Lake. I'm not going to lie, I was terrified to take these 2 girls on a plane. I just knew that they would scream and cry the entire flight and that everyone would hate us. As it turns out, my fears were unwarranted. Lily sat and colored the entire way there and Charlotte ate and slept. The one hour flight was so much easier than the six hour drive and totally worth it!

Here are the girls on their first flight.

Friday morning we got up and drove down to Circleville, Utah (ie: middle of nowhere) to attend Tyson's brother Stewart's wedding. It was a lovely wedding, the setting was beautiful, and the weather was great. We had a great time and we are so happy for them. Congratulations to Stew and Pam!

This is Lily right before the ceremony started. She noticed all of the rocks around the trees and had to go play with them.
Lily was in heaven! She always is when we get together with Tyson's family because she gets so much attention and there are so many people who want to play with her. Here she is swinging with her aunts.

Saturday morning we drove back to Sandy and spent the day with Tyson's family. Since Lily and Tyson both have birthdays coming up in the next week or so we had cake and ice cream. Lily went right in for the frosting balloon.

Aunt Brittany was sure brave letting Lily sit on her lap while she ate her cake. Needless to say Lily went right into the bathtub.

Charlotte was sweet and happy with grandma during the cake festivities.

Finally Sunday was Mother's Day. We went to church down in Sandy and then had dinner with Tyson's family. Brandi took a new family photo for us.

Afterwards we got back on an airplane and flew home and went straight to my parents' house for my brother Josh's birthday party. We finally got back to our house Sunday evening and while we LOVE spending time with family, it is always great to be back home.

Catching a Smile

I've been trying to catch Charlotte's little smile on camera all week with no success. Every time I picked up the camera she stopped smiling. It could even be sitting right next to me and by the time I grabbed it she was done and would not be coaxed into giving me another one no matter how much a begged.

This morning I determined that today would be the day. I was just going to snap away all day long and I would end up with a great picture. This is what I got:

She started to smile so I snapped a picture quick as I could.

Once she saw the camera this was all I got from her.

Later this evening I got this little half smile.A little later this little grin. Most people probably wouldn't recognize it as a smile, but I've seen this little grin on a lot of my family's faces over the years.And of course when I got the one big grin shot she arched backwards and my camera was a little close so she is a bit washed out.Oh well, I guess that I will just have to keep trying.

*After publishing this post I sat down to feed Charlotte and then put her to bed and as soon as I laid her in my lap she looked at me and just started smiling away. My camera was on the ottoman so I grabbed it and got a beautiful smile!

You might also notice that Lottie has a little skiff of hair on top of her head. She actually has a decently thick layer of white blond fuzz up there. She may not end up being bald for the first few years of her life after all.

One Year Pictures

I have found that Lily smiles and poses better for me than a professional photographer so for her one year photos I decided to take them myself at our home. You can be teh judge, but I think that they are wonderful. But then again the subject matter made it easy. How can you mess up when taking pictures of such a pretty little girl.

And one more piece of news, Lily can stand up on her own!!!

Cuter Every Day!

This little girl of ours just seems to get cuter every single day. Since we have so much family that lives far away we thought that we would share a few more pictures.
Lily's uncle Josh is just in love with her! He is always holding her hands or giving her kisses.I don't get too many pictures of her with her eyes open, but she was watching the news last night with her dad. Nap time. Just looking around again. We just love her and we love having her in our home. Our nights might not be as quiet as they used to be but that's fine. We'll keep her.
