Too Soon?

My sister Sarita has allowed us to borrow her piano for the next few months and tonight I let Lily have a go at it. Well, she loves it! Probably a bit too soon to start lessons though.

Visit to the Park

I am tired of Winter already! With Lily being sick so much and the cold weather we have really been stuck indoors and I am getting really stir crazy. It was kinda nice this afternoon (meaning over 45 degrees) so I decided that Lily and I would go for a walk to the park. We were only out for aout half an hour, but I think that it was good for the both of us.

Lily got to try out a swing for the first time. She was really unsure about it at first, but as you can see she quickly decided that it was a lot ot fun.

She also figured out her only little method of pumping, check it out!

She also got to try out the slide...she wasn't too impressed. I think that we'll try again another time.

Oh, and when we got home I noticed something, MY BULBS ARE COMING UP!!! Spring is in sight, thank heaven!

Happy Valentine's Day

We bought this onesie for Lily up at Red Fish Lake when she was just 2 months old. The smallest size that I could find was 12 months so she has not been able to wear it, until now.

Turns out it is the perfect little shirt for Valentine's Day.And my favorite part, the hug wraps all the way around! Tyson was holding her earlier this afternoon and giving her a hug before he had to leave for work and it made me laugh to see his arms around her and the little bear arms.Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

...Nine Months...

Lily Ann is nine months old today! I can hardly believe that we are 3/4 of the way through her first year.

At the doctor's office this morning she weighed in at 21 pounds 6 ounces and she was 27 1/2 inches long.

She is learning new skills every day. She loves to clap her hands when I clap mine and she tries to pull herself up all the time and is managing to do it more and more. Still no crawling, but I think that being sick for the last 5 weeks has had something to do with that. Who feels adventurous when they are sick. She does try though. She spends a lot of time up on all fours and rocking, but she tends to either move backwards or face-plant. Any day now though she is just going to take off on me.

As always, another month means another onesie.

The back:
I finished this onesie weeks ago but forgot to take pictures of it until after I had her dressed this morning. So no pictures of just the onesie today.

Lily showing us the front and her beautiful smile. She has been sick so it isn't as bright as usual, but still beautiful.
Showing us the back and up on all fours.Sitting with her luvy. And reading a Valentine's story book. This month she has acquired four new teeth. She is very protective of them so I couldn't get a good picture. One of her front teeth came in a couple of weeks ago and the second just popped through so they are not even for now, but I'm sure that they will balance out soon enough.Lily has also graduated from the high chair to a booster seat. Our dining room is not overly large and the bulky high chair was taking up a lot of space so we opted for the much smaller booster chair. It takes up much less room and she can sit up to the table with us.

My Silly Little Family

So we were out this evening and when we finally got home I went into the room and changed and started to get Lily's bath ready. I walked into the living room and this is what I came upon.
Tyson and Lily were watching some of his cartoons together (good old 90's X-Men cartoons) and I guess Oscar decided to lay by them. Oh, and Lily was playing with Oscar's tail. Here's a closer shot of Lily with the tail. I have such a sweet silly family!

Another Baby Sweater

I know, so many projects, but I love baby sweaters. They are so quick! This was a three day project and super simple.
Anyway, this project was fun because I played a little bit with texture. The texture doesn't show up well in photos, but it is cute. Oh, and I made up this pattern! This is my very first original project.I've got another original design that I'm working on that I am really excited about. I am learning how to do some lace designs and they are fun, but they take a little while.

Sick Baby

These last couple of weeks Lily has been rather sick. We've dealt with little cold before and teething pain, but this is something new to us. We've been to the doctor twice (two weeks apart, I'm not a crazy mommy) and both times we were told to keep doing what we were doing and just wait it out.

As it turns out the simple little cold that she had a month ago turned into bronchialitis and then RSV. Oh, and in the middle of all that add an ear infection and the sprouting of 4 new teeth. The poor little thing has had such a hard time.

I like to be in control of a situation, but I have just felt so helpless lately. Other than Tylenol or Motrin to help with the fever and teething pain and the antibiotics for the ear infection there hasn't been much that I could do to make her more comfortable. I've felt so helpless. The other night she was up most of the night crying and all that I could do was rock her and cuddle her. I just wish that I could make it all better somehow.

Thankfully it looks like we are finally getting past it. Lily has been fever free for about 36 hours now and has been a much happier baby girl.
