Hogle Zoo

While visiting family in the Salt Lake valley we decided that we would go to the zoo. Tyson and I went last September and enjoyed it and thought that Lily might like to see the animals.
One of the elephants just had a baby this last August and she was a big attraction. Everyone wanted to see the baby elephant. She was really cute. Lily was more entertained by the tree than the elephants I think. She loved the zebras though. I think that it was the contrast of their stripes.
We of course had to go visit all of the great apes. They have these little murals where you can measure yourself against the size of the apes. When we went last year Tyson measured himself against the adult male. Since last year they have updated them and added more apes to measure yourself against. We decided to measure Lily against the infant gorillas and orangutans. She was a bit smaller than the infant gorilla. She was a lot closer to the size of the infant orangutan, but thankfully her arms are still a little short.
She seemed to really like them so we picked her up a little stuffed orangutan at the gift shop.

Lily's Frog Prince

I was reading Lily a few stories this afternoon and one of our storybooks came with a cute little frog prince puppet. Well, Lily loves the little frog puppet now.
First, she checked him out...Figured that it was worth a shot, so she gave him a kiss...And nothing happened so she decided to see if his eyeball tasted good. He looks kinda worried to me.This little girl is more and more fun everyday!

Yet Another Project...

I was reminded by Britney that I never posted any of my little Mary Janes on the blog. I've really gotten quick at making them and I have tons of different colors of thread so Lily has lots of little shoes now.
Here are two of our favorites. If anyone would like the pattern let me know. I made a lot of adjustments to the one that I found and worked it into four different sizes.

Lily and her Jumperoo

We picked up this Jumperoo off Craigslist a couple of weeks ago and Lily has been loving it! She has gotten bored with her jumper chair and swing. She wants to be standing or sitting upright so anything that reclines just doesn't cut it anymore.
Enjoy!

I Learned to Knit!

So I was looking for a cute crocheting pattern and I came across the cutest little knitted hoodie pattern. I figured, "why not?" so I went and bought what I needed and sat down to instructional videos online and learned to knit.
I finished my first project today and I kinda like how it turned out. Okay, so it isn't totally finished, but I'll pick up some buttons for it tomorrow. It is still a little big on Lily, but that is fine as it was over 90 degrees here today!

...Four Months...

Another month has passed by and I just realized that we are now a third of the way through Lily's first year. I can not believe how time flies with a baby!

I don't have exact stats at the moment, but she is now over 15.5 pounds and over 24 inches long. Our little girl is getting so big!

Any way, another month means another onesie and new pictures.
The front:The back:
And of course the Lily Bug being our model.
The front:The back:With her luvy:And, last of all, the tooth that is starting to make it's way through!

Daily Dose of Cuteness

I caught these pictures of Lily the other day and I thought that I would share. Here is your daily dose of cuteness. She is sitting in the chair in her room smiling at her daddy.Lily in her Bumbo. We picked it up at a yard sale this last weekend and she loves it! She can sit up in it and watch me which is wonderful because it allows me to get more done around the house.I'm finding motherhood to be more than I expected in a lot of ways. I love my little girl more than I ever thought possible. I look at her when she smiles and talks to me and my heart melts! And while she is the best baby girl anyone could ask for, I am amazed at how much of my time she takes up. I struggle to keep my home as clean as I would like and the laundry done. Maybe I just need to get more acclimated to this new role.
