Trying to relax...

I took some pictures of the house this last weekend when we showed it to my family. I thought that I might post one that shows the house when it is not covered in snow.
So really, I just like to worry a lot about nothing and let myself get sressed. The mortgage situation is going to be just fine. I talked to both of my mortgage people today and they both feel like everything it totally under control. I'll still worry, just because I really like doing that. Okay, I don't really like it, but it has be ingrained in me since childhood.

I have a new big concern now...packing. I knew that we were buying a house but somewhere along the line I seemed to forget that buying a house means moving. I hate moving. There is nothing fun at all about boxing up everything you own and carrying it up and down flights of stairs, driving it wherever, and then unpacking it all and figuring out how to best organize an entirely different setting. It takes me a while to feel settled, though I do have a tendency to have to unpack everything in one day. I feel like we just moved in here, though it really was about eight months ago. I guess that the bright side here is that we won't be moving again for sometime.

Really, I just need a break.

Mortgage Woes

My life can never be simple can it... So, we finally found the perfect home. It is a great deal and we want to buy it. All along I thought the lender that I had talked to was getting things ready to go for me and that all we needed to do was find the house. Turns out she hasn't really started anything and I need to be ready to close on this house in just about three weeks.
Our problem is that the construction market slowed in the valley so much that Tyson has not been working much at all these last three months. In a week he is set to start a new job working as a guard out at the prison. It will be a good steady job that will get us up and running again. Even with him out of work though, we have been paying our all of our bills on time. We figured that with the new job in the works we wouldn't ahve any problems, but I guess we were wrong. Our lender is not a bit concerned about getting us financed. I'm bothered becasue she isn't even at work today, though she said she would be, and we have a deadline to work with and I need to know if we are going to make it or not.
I called a friend of mine today who is an officer at a local bank and is in charge of their mortgage department. Basically I want to see if there is anything that he can do for me. I am such a worrier by nature I don't think that I will rest well until I know that the financing is all in place...

Home Inspection

Yesterday Tyson and I, along with our realtor Steve, went to the office of the agency selling the home we want to buy. They wanted us to read a mold report from over a year and a half ago. It was a long report that answered a few of our questions and made us think of a few more. We went back to the home to check out a few things and decided that we would go ahead and get the home inspection.
Today Tyson went to the house again and met with Troy our home inspector. Needless to say, I was on edge all day long. I have been so worried about how the inspection would come out because basically that would determin whether or not we went through with the purchase. Thank heaven, it came back well. There are a couple of things that we need to do and a little bit of mold still in the basement, but other than that the house is in great shape. Troy said himself that we are getting a great deal on this house which made me feel at ease.
I am just so excited. The house is in good shape and we are going to buy it! In less than 4 weeks we will be homeowners!

Offer Accepted!

Okay, so since January Tyson and I have been looking for a house to buy. We made an offer on two houses before now and the first was refused and the second was taken off the market after we had waited for over a month. This last weekend we found yet another house that we just loved. We made an offer on Saturday and then, low and behold, this evening I got a call from our realtor Steve who said that they have accepted our offered price. We had, of course, asked to be able to do a home inspection before we actually buy the house, and they are fine with that, but they want it completed before the end of the day on Friday. I need to call the home inspector tomorrow I guess to get him scheduled to go out. I just hope that it comes back favorable. I am just so tired of looking for a house and waiting on everything, and I love this house, so I want everything just to go in order. Of course, nothing can ever go that easy so the question really is, what is going to be the next problem that we encounter... I'll probably know more tomorrow.

Opening

So, I decided that I needed to start a blog of my own. I could pretend that Tyson will contribute to this as well, but lets not kid ourselves. Since weare buying a house and everything I thought that it would be fun to be able to chronicle it all, the changes we make to it and everything. It should be fun.
